Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy set for Africa Youth Cup in Cape Verde

The proprietor of Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy has announced that his outfit is set to feature in the Africa Youth Cup billed for October in Cape Verde.

Gbaboyor in a chat with our Correspondent said the academy would be sending its U-15 outfit to the tournament declaring that featuring at the event is one of the focus of the academy that has over 150 students.

“Our academy has concluded plans to be in Cape Verde for the Africa Youth Cup. We have registered for the tournament and we are working with the organizers to ensure a smooth participation. We are going to send our U-15 lads to the tournament,” Gbaboyor said.

He further disclosed that the academy which opened its doors to students on March 8 this year has over 150 students who live and play football at its campus located in Isaba town in Warri South East local government area of Delta State.

“We have well over 150 students in camp and we have U-10, U-13 and U-15 set. As we speak, all the kids are on scholarship and our focus is to get the boys out of the creeks and change their lives. We want to see them rise to international stardom…we want to see them lace boots for Nigeria,” Gbaboyor said.

Gbaboyor who studied Software Engineering in the University of East London stressed that the academy has played several friendlies with some Nationwide League sides in a bid to adequately prepare the players for the Cape Verde challenge.
