NNL Super 8: Aluo showers encomium on NFF President

Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, has showered praises on the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau,and the entire board for its support towards the successful execution of the Super 8 championship in Enugu.
The NNL Chairman who similarly thanked Governor Peter Mbah and the government of Enugu state who sponsored the championship, noted that the decision of the NFF Predident to grace the final match of the Super 8, between eventual champions, Beyond Limits and premier league returnees, Nasarawa United, shows how important the NFF see the nation’s second top football league.
Speaking at the final game and presentation of laurels to the players at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu, Aluo who expressed his joy over the successes recorded so far by his new NNL board, noted that the unity in the board has made the NNL League more attractive, adding that the just ended season was organized so perfectly that the league has become attractive and competitive.
“There is no doubt that we all enjoyed good football from the begining to the end of this Super 8 championship. The competitiveness of the championship has shown that our league recorded the best in administration and organization, which has given us a name as our players and managers exhibited their bunch of experience.
“However, we couldn’t have achieved this milage without the support of our parent body, the NFF, who gave us the maximum backing we needed to excel. The fact that the NFF Predident graced the final match is enough to tell the huge importance the federation attaches to the development of the NNL.
We cannot also write our success story in the season without mentioning the governor and people of Enugu state who did not hesitate to approve our request to host the Super 8 championship. We all are witnesses to the massive support we received from Enugu people,” a joyful Aluo stated.
The NNL Chairman who had earlier congratulated the four clubs that gained promotion from the league to the top flight premier league (Beyond Limits Academy, Nasarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors and Ikorodu United) also congratulated the Ikenne, Ogun state based Beyond Limits Academy for emerging as overall winners of the 2023/224 NNL season, even as he expressed confidence that the clubs will show class in next season’s NPFL challenge.
Recall that Beyond Limits, who emerged winners of Conference A defeated Nasarawa United, Conference D winners 4-2 on penalty shoot out, after the game ended 2-2 at regulation time at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium (The Cathedral) in Enugu.
