CG Adeniyi commiserates Ewhrudjakpo’s family, Governor Diri, and the people of Bayelsa State

The President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Governor Douye Diri and the entire people of the state over the demise of the number two man.

The Wrestling Federation President issued the statement personally after a powerful delegation led by the immediate past President of the Federation, Honourable Daniel Igali along side current and past board members and wrestling stakeholders in the country, paid a courtesy visit to the family.

Describing the shocking news as heartbreaking and hard to swallow.

Bashir Adewale Adeniyi who doubles as the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, expressed with dismal the effect of the tragic news has had on everyone, particularly his children and wife, who at this time needed their father’s counsel and guidance the most.

The NWF boss statement read, “I want to on behalf of my board members and the Nigeria Wrestling family commiserate with the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, the people of Bayelsa, and most especially his wife and children and relatives.”

“The death of a husband and father is always painful, particularly one so vibrant and impactful. I pray the family to take solace in the quality of life he lived,” Adeniyi said.

The Customs boss noted the impact of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to sports development in Bayelsa, particularly to wrestling, which has seen the state yearly hosting the Governor Douye Diri National Wrestling Classics as a way of encouraging the sport.

He noted that Bayelsa State is a home to the Nigeria Wrestling Federation. Hence, whatever happens to Bayelsa affects the Federation as a matter of family.

“We would always be remembered by the good deeds we have done, and the magnanimity of the Deputy Governor will be cherished in our Federation because of how he cared for our athletes, his encouragement to our vision.”

“Once again, we can only offer the family, Governor Diri and Bayelsa people prayers and condolence, believing that the good work of the Deputy Governor will continue to propel the family and every relative and the state to greatness and greater harmony,” he said.

The delegation led by Hon. Igali was accompanied by current and past board members, Lt Colonel Okou Femedein Timipre PhD, Habib Abubakar Umar, Damian Ohaike, Dr. Jude Amadi and other Wrestling Stakeholders such as Hon. Kia Nigeria, immediate past Chairman, Southern Ijaw LGA, among others.
