AFCON 2023 : House of Reps member, Hon. Nwogu throws weight behind Super Eagles

As the Super Eagles prepare to take on Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi- final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations slated for Wednesday February, 7, 2024, the member representing Ngor Okpala/ Aboh Mbaise Federal constituency, Hon. Mathew Nwogu has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles; saying he’s optimistic that the Eagles will fly past South Africa and book a ticket in the finals.

He told our correspondent that the present crop of Super Eagles have what it takes to not only beat South Africa but win the trophy for the fourth time.

” I have been following all the Super Eagles’ matches since the commencement of the tournament and I’m happy with their performance. When you analyse how they’ve been playing, you will discover that they have a complete team, have the ability to improve with each game and as such are in a better position to win the trophy for the fourth time.

” I know that Bafana Bafana of South Africa is a good side but the Coach Jose Peseiro tutored side will fly over them and qualify for the finals because we have the players that can deliver the goals”, he stated with full confidence.

Hon Nwogu who promised to be in Abidjan to cheer the Eagles to victory in the finals however charged the players to remain focused and patriotic while lacing boots for the country.

” Right now, am fully prepared to be in Abidjan to cheer the Eagles to victory in the finals because am convinced that Bafana Bafana can not stand between them and the finals but I must advise the team to be focused, patriotic and determined while lacing their boots for the country”, he concluded
