NNL Super 4: Sajo thumbs up Bayelsa govt as El Kanemi gets 48- hour respite

By George Aluo

Organizers of the NNL Super 4 in Yenagoa have given El Kanemi Warriors a 48-hour respite to cool off after arriving the venue late on Wednesday.

El Kanemi going by the adjusted fixture would now do battle with Bendel Insurance on Friday.

Chief Executive Officer of NNL Barrister Sajo Mohammed said the fixture was slightly adjusted in the spirit of giving all the teams a level playing field.

Sajo said the format adopted during the draw would also help the teams as they prepare for life in the elite class of the nation’s domestic league.

“The four teams here will all face each other and that is good for their preparation ahead of their NPFL campaign.”

Sajo said all is set for the kick off even as he poured plaudits on Bayelsa State for being able to host despite what it suffered as a result of the flood that ravaged the state.

Bayelsa United is facing Doma in the NNL Super 4 opener at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

The four teams in Yenagoa were table toppers in the four different groups during the regular season.

They are slugging it out to determine the champions for the 2021/22 Nigeria National League.
