De Lads boss promises exciting Battle of Ages championship
President of leading boxing promotions outfit, De Lads Boxing promotions, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Waheed said that fans will be treated to the best of professional boxing in this year’s Easter edition of Battle of Ages’ championship tagged ‘No Surrender’ which will take place on Sunday, April, 20 at Gymnasium Hall of the National Institute For Sports, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to him, De Lads is known for quality promotions and will not compromise on the standard, promising that fans will get value for their money while the fight is part of his plans of keeping boxers in top shape as well as getting adequate exposure.
” You’re aware that we’re known for organising quality fights and there will be no dull moment on Sunday . The boxers are ready to go. They’ve done their weighing and medicals and everything is set for a memorable fight”, he said
He also announced that like previous editions, there will also be amateur fights to spice up the day.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control ( NBB of C), Remi Aboderin said that the board will continue to work closely with promoters inorder to maintain the successes recorded by the board in moving professional boxing forward in the country.
Aboderin who also doubles as President of West African Boxing Union ( WABU) stated that the Easter Boxing show being put together by De Lads Boxing Promotions will be highly entertaining as the boxers were carefully selected for the bouts.
The fixtures for the fight shows that Hassan Tiamiyu will square up against Kazeem Lawal in an 8 rounds National Super Welterweight Challenge contest while Saheed Abdullai will face Faruq Yakubu in a 10 rounds Super Welterweight West African Boxing Union title fight just as Taiwo Olowu will test the might of Ani Micheal in an 8 rounds National Super Welterweight Challenge contest.
Also, Isaac Chukwudi will meet Yusuf Ogunbunmi in a 10 rounds National Light Welterweight Challenge contest while Ezekiel Seun will tackle Oluwatosin Adeshina in a 6 rounds National Bantamweight challenge fight with Taofeek Faruq and Ojo Arabambi will face each other in a 10 rounds National Featherweight title fight just as Shittu Afolabi will meet Nurudeen Salahu in a 10 rounds National Super Flyweight Challenge fight.
