De Legacy Sports Supporters Club President Charges SWAN on Sports Record Keeping

President of De Legacy Sports Supporters Club, Prince Obiyim Happy Ehiedu has charged members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria to take the issue of sports record keeping serious as it will enhance their job

He gave the advise Tuesday at the Olumo Hall of Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, during the launch of a book titled ‘Nigeria Sports Year Book’ written by members of Lagos State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria ( SWAN) in conjunction with a communication outfit, O& I Contact Limited.

According to him record keeping is important in every profession and will help journalists in educating and enlightening the public.

“I’m really excited that Lagos State SWAN embarked on this academic journey which captured the history of the various sports in the country. The book is intellectually rich and contains vital information on Nigerian sports.

” While I give kudos to the journalists that painstakingly wrote the book, I charge others to take the issue of record keeping serious”, he stated.

The book launch attracted many personalities including the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, Secretary General of Nigeria Olympic Committee, Chief Tunde Popoola, Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Sports who also doubles as President of Amputee Football Federation of Nigeria, Chief Paul Maduakor and a host of other important personalities.
