Delta State bidding to host President Cup Final- Adode

Chairman of Delta State Football Association Honourable Adode Godwin said the state is interested in hosting the 2026 President Cup Final.
Adode revealed this while speaking with newsmen in Morocco at the ongoing AFCON.
According to him ,Delta State have the enabling environment to host the final of the oldest football competition in Nigeria.
“We hosted in 2023 and everyone can testify to Delta State hospitality .
It was a grand finale and the turn out of fans was.massive . People came from all over the country to Asaba for the final between Rangers of Enugu and Insurance of Benin.
Adode is optimistic that the state owned team Warri Wolves will pick continental ticket at the end of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL.
“The State Sports Commission has provided financial support to the team and recently they got a new coaster bus to motivate them to success. I expect the team to reciprocate this gesture by improving their position on the league table. I believe they owe Delta State Continental ticket.
The Delta State FA boss assured Football stakeholders that the renovation work at the Warri Township stadium will be completed this
year .
“Work has reached advance stage and when completed, it will compliment the Stephen keshi stadium in Asaba .We are also working on improving the state of facilities at the Sapele stadium as well”, he concluded.
