AFN President lauds Sports Minister

The  President  of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Olamide George has expressed deep  appreciation to the  Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare for the important role he played in the evaluation  program of the Athletics Federation of  Nigeria held in Akure last weekend.

According to George, “it was  inspiring to see that the Minister was part of the event despite  his  tight schedule in  the last  few days.The fact that he  graced the occasion is a confirmation  of his concern  for the welfare of the athletes and   deep passion for sports generally. He not only  gave  out cash prizes, but also motivated athletes with  personal cash. There is  no better motivation than the action of the Minister  who has been  very supportive. He is  the pillar   behind the achievements we have recorded since my assumption of office. He’s  committed to whatever he believes in. Over the past few  weeks he has committed his time into the  Olympics preparations for Nigeria to have a  great experience. I want to thank him for the  fatherly role he has been playing,  we can only  reciprocate by  winning  medals at the Olympics,”  George concluded.
