

Dynamite Opens Scrabble Championship, the fifth in its series will open another portal for new and intending players as April 18-19 have been earmarked as the dates for the tournament.
The tournament has played a critical platform for emerging players and a prime passage for blooding new entrants as well as competitors with ratings below 1199 points.
It’s been known to be a veritable ground for young players to have their first feel of tournament scrabble.
The Organising Committee said the fifth edition would have additional spices with the introduction of Celebrity Doubles and Inter-Secondary School Scrabble and Spelling Bee competitions.
This fresh flavours are expected to provide participating players and avenue for mentoring while offering direct schools engagement through the students.
According to it’s statement, “Dynamite Open Scrabble Championship, a flagship Scrabble event designed to foster growth, inclusiveness, and competitive excellence within the Scrabble community.
“This year’s championship comes with exciting new packages aimed at expanding Scrabble beyond the board and into the community:Inter-Secondary School Scrabble & Spelling Bee – nurturing young minds and promoting word mastery at the grassroots level. Celebrity Scrabble Doubles – a fun, engaging twist featuring notable personalities paired up for thrilling Scrabble action.
“This edition promises not just competition, but innovation, visibility, and unforgettable experiences for players, schools, partners, and spectators alike.”
It called on individuals and corporate support as the countdown to the tournament begins.
It would be recalled that Kwara State’s Hakeem Ogundokun won the last edition held in Lagos.
