Edo Queens white wash Confluence Queens in NWL Super 6 opener

Edo Queens today began their quest to be crowned overall champion of the women league when they hammered Confluence Queens of Lokoja 5-1 in the opener of 2024 Nigeria Women Football League Super Six matches being played at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Emem Essien put the Edo ladies ahead after just thirteen minutes of play while Merit Offor latched home the leveller eight minutes later.
Goodness Osigwe restored Edo ladies lead two minutes later while Chioma Moses scored the third goal.
Emem Essien completed her brace in first half goal rush to give Edo Queens a 4-1 lead at halftime.
After the break ,Goodness Osigwe netted her side’s fifth goal of the match and her second of the game.
Winners of the NWFL Super Six will be crowned champions and represent Nigeria at the continent.
Six teams namely; Edo Queens, Confluence Queens, Heartland Queens, Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons are taking part in the weeklong championship.
