Edo Sports Commission boss, Dudu-Orumen wishes Oba of Benin successful Igue festival

The Chairman and Staff of Edo State Sports Commission have wished the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, a successful outing as he presides over his fourth Igue Festival.
Godwin Dudu-Orumen, the chairman of the Commission in a statement on Tuesday signed by Nnamdi Okosieme, his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, praised Oba Ewuare II for his spirited efforts at preserving the culture and traditions of the Benin people, and for ensuring peace and tranquility in the kingdom.
“Oba Ewuare II in just four short years has ushered in peace to the Benin Kingdom. He has been a motivator, stabilizer and unifier. His anscension to the throne of his father’s has been a blessing to the Benin people.


As he celebrates this year’s edition of the Igue Festival, we at the Sports Commission, wish him God’s blessings and continued peaceful reign. May his reign continue to usher prosperity to the Benin people. ‘Oba ghato kpere ise’ meaning, ‘Long may you reign; our king, amen,” Dudu-Orumen said.
He called on the Bini people to see in this year’s celebration of the Igue Festival, an occasion for thanksgiving to God for his faithfulness and blessings this year in the wake of the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
