Few weeks to the Edo State Gubernatorial election, a new Police Commissioner has been appointed for the state. He is Nemi Edwin- Iwo.
According to a statement issued in Benin on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command Superintendent, Moses Yamu, the new commissioner replaced Funsho Adegboye.
The statement described Edwin-Iwo, the 47th Police Commissioner in the state, as a hardworking, versatile and dedicated law enforcement officer.
Until his deployment to Edo, he was the Commissioner in charge of Intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the statement, the police Chief hailed from Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
