
The fifth instalment of the glamorous Emmanuel Egbele Annual Scrabble Tournament (EEAST) tagged ‘ Quinta Essentia’ is set to hold at the iconic Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos from July 5 to 6.
The highly-rated championship which has been one of the most exciting scrabble event will once again raise the standards of tournament scrabble in Nigeria and the the world at large.
Organizers have already indicated plans to mark up this year’s edition with great prize-money, spot prizes and surprise gifts and awards.
Again, the ambience will offer a unique atmosphere which would accentuate the beauty of competing at the spectacular scrabble championship.
Convener, Emmanuel Egbele who has been resolute in pushing the boundaries in organized scrabble, revealed his excitement on the birth of the fifth edition.
“We are excited to announce the commencement of the fifth edition of the Emmanuel Egbele Annual Scrabble Tournament (EEAST). As you know, this edition we have themed ‘Quinta Essentia’ and it is the fifth installment of the EEAST. It’s been a journey marked with challenges but we are encouraged by the strides we have made in elevating the status of scrabble as a vehicle for social change and development.

“Scrabble is a beautiful game. Whichever way you look at it, there’s bound to be a rich connection among the players and enthusiasts. Socially and academically, the EEAST has been massively strategic in creating a vibrant global community where the desire to harness the positives is in the high.”
“As you know, there will be some innovations just like we did at the maiden edition, the Sophomore edition, the Trilogy and Fourth Dimension, the ‘Quinta Essentia’ edition will not be any different.”
It would be recalled that Wellington Jighere won the Premier Division while Christopher Monday picked the Lite Division while Funmilola Okusanya emerged as the Best Female player.
