GWF to support Pro-Wrestling development in Africa

..set to train 25 Togolese wrestlers

Golden Wrestling Federacy (GWF), an international professional wrestling organization based in Florida, USA, founded in the year 2018 under the auspices of a Dentist and legendary pro- wrestler of over three decades, Dr. James McDowell with the sole aim of pulling together worldwide groups and to further actualize development of professional Wrestling development in various African country and other under developed nations of the world has now focused on pro- wrestling development in Africa.
A federacy is group of states joined by a treaty with a central government but independent in internal affairs and Golden Wrestling Federacy as an organization has gradually started manifesting the plans it has by coming to Africa to feature “The Golden Boy” Dr. James McDowell at the Battleground 2023 Pro – Wrestling Championship held at Yaoundé, Cameroon on the 22nd, July, 2023.
Apart from competing as an American wrestler under the approval of the AIWF management, He was able to support the funding of two championship billboards in Yaoundé Cameroon during the July pro -wrestling contest; as a medical practitioner, he donated 12 Doctor Scrub tops and 10 bio-hazardous lab jackets to Yaoundé General Hospital which would be very useful to health practitioners in the Central African nation as well as serve as a goodwill gesture to medical professionals who sacrifice so much of their time, effort and knowledge for the well being of all Cameroonians.
As if that was not enough, Dr. James McDowell who also doubles as the the CEO/President of the international body felt that regular seminars will help promote professional wrestling in Africa and this made him organize a training seminar which brought Central Africans and the other African pro- wrestling stakeholders who are; professional wrestlers, trainers, trainees, managers, referees, booker’s and promoters together in Yaoundé, Cameroon on July, 20, 2023 at the Fido International Hotel.
Just like he did in Yaoundé, Cameroon, ‘Golden Boy’ who is a seasoned trainer and seminar organizer would be making history with the introduction of professional wrestling in Togo in six months time, where he will for three years train about twenty five Togolese in the matsman game under the auspices of Golden Boy Wrestling Academy.
“I am set and prepare for this timely project. I know that the training will need my humble self and another great trainer from the USA. I see many raw talents among the youths in the African continent.
“My visit to Cameroon for a week was an eye opener that if we create time to nurture those talents, they will end up becoming world champions and we genuinely need to go for this assignment so as to start that country on the right path” Big Jim as he was called in Cameroon by some fans explained.
It would be noted that running this type of project cost a lot of money beginning from return tickets of two great trainers from USA to lodging, feeding and local transportation but as a philanthropist, he is only looking at the benefit of the project with the aim of raising world pro-wrestling champions for Togo.
The training would be part of his schedules in Africa where he hope to support the mat man game in his own ways. He would talk about the non-technical aspects of pro- wrestling which are personal, dresses, attire, development of character and so on. He also promised to issue certificates to participants after the training session.
It’s equally important to note that “Golden Boy” Jimmy McDowell whose heritage could be traced to West African countries of Benin Republic and Togo is a world talented grappler who during the day runs his dental office while by night, he runs circles around his opponents in the wrestling ring dealing with them squarely. He is the current heavyweight champion of the AIWF Golden Age. .
He has been privileged to compete over the years with world talented and internationally rated superstars like Buff Bagwell, The Barbarian, The Warlord (both of The Powers of Pain tag team), Super Crazy, The Nature Boy Paul Lee, Chic Donovan, Pablo Marquez, Mo, Twin Towers and many others.
