Amokachi thumbs up 042 Football Legends Association

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sports, Dan Amokachi has given a pat on the back to 042 Football Legends Association over the giant strides it is making.

Amokachi noted that the body led by Chikelue Iloenyosi has been doing well pointing out that 042 which was born just some few months back has become a rallying point for several ex internationals that include Charles Okonkwo, Donald Igwebuike, Emma Okala, Christian Chukwu, Victor Nwalu, Ifeanyi Onyedika, Dele Bob Manuel, Oladuni Oyekale, Golden Ajebor, Mba Agbai and Bede Onyia just to mention a few.

He said the association’s decision to name Chief Tony Chukwu a former Heartland FC of Owerri board chairman as a patron was a good one that would help the body in realizing its objectives.

Amokachi also pledged to throw his weight behind the association as its vision tallies with that of Mr President and Sports minister Sunday Dare who has not toyed with the welfare of Nigerian players and ex internationals.

“We are on the same page with 042. Chikelue and his group should be rest assured that he would get our support,” Amokachi said.

It would be noted that Iloenyosi, the promoter of the association is using the body to support the nation’s ex internationals who are in need.
