Ekiti agog as Bafem Cup kicks off

It is non-stop football action and excitement for football-loving people of Ekiti state as the eagerly awaited BAFEM Cup 2021, organized by Ekiti State Football Association to determine the state football champion kicks off Friday, at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

The competition which is sponsored by Rt. Hon. Olufemi Bamisile, who currently represents Ekiti Constituency 2 in the Federal House of Representatives, will feature 16 male teams divided into four groups of four teams each. While 4 female teams will also participate in the battle to claim the over one million naira prize money.

According to a release by Ekiti State FA signed by its Acting Secretary Pelumi Abiara, the competition will determined the state football champions. Adding that everything has been put in place by the FA to ensure that the present pace of football development in the state continues.

In group A, Ikere United, Ado United, Lionsgate FA and EKSU Galaticos will slug it out; in group B, Gateway FA, Omuo United, Jimlas FC and Agbana FC will battle for honours; group C, will feature Falcoms FA, Choice FC, Aare FC and Shakers FC; and in group D, Ekiti United, Royal Stars, Fuoye Dazzlers and Agbonna FC will trade tackles for qualifications to the knock out stages.

The female teams participating include Ekiti Queens, Ekiti Queen Bees, EKSU and Fuoye Queens.
