Peseiro can’t lead Super Eagles to greater height -Peterside

For the umpteenth time, Former Super Eagles goal keeper, Bishop Idah Peterside has sounded it loud and clear that he does not have confidence in the technical abilities of Super Eagles manager Jose Pesiero.

Peterside without mincing words said Peseiro can’t lead the Super Eagles team to greater height.

Peterside in his submission while fielding questions from Sportswriters in Port Harcourt recently noted that the choice of Jose Pesiero to tinker the Nigeria senior national team – Super Eagles was not the best.

He insisted that the Portuguese coach is not the answer to Eagles problem, especially against the background of the poor result he has recorded with the team since taking charge.

“Honestly, there are lots of good indigenous football coaches in Nigeria who are passionate and knowledgeable enough about football technicalities better than Pesiero”.

After all, what is the pedigree of coach Pesiero in football and which notable clubsides has he played. What appreciable good result has he recorded since his football coaching career?” Peterside queried angrily.

Bishop Peterside who is currently the Head Pastor of Christ Ambassador Church Port Harcourt further maintained that it is high time Nigeria indigenous football coaches are considered during the selection of coaches to handle the senior national team.

“Interestingly, we have seasoned football coaches in Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke among others who are eager and interested to lead the Eagles team to enviable height, having played for the country very well in the past”

“Believe me, I stand to be corrected that if the likes of Finidi, Amuneke, Sunday Oliseh and Mikel Obi are called out to Vie for Eagles plum job against Peseiro, there is no way Pesiero will come close in getting the job, judging from his poor track record of coaching performance with the less fancied Portuguese team”.

“Regrettably, the Super Eagles team is not playing well presently, which would unmistakably be blamed on the man at the head, piloting the ship of the team”

The safest hand in goal who was a delight to watch during his active exploit in Sharks of Port Harcourt, Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Owerri, Rangers International of Enugu, NNPC of Warri, BCC Lions of Gboko and Enyimba FC of Aba, however, prayed that the authorities concerned, as a matter of fact, should see reason to rise up to the occasion by ensuring that our indigenous football coaches were given some little push to embark on refresher courses, so that they will be updated with the modern football technics that will help them in producing results at home.

The respected man of God, nevertheless called on the teeming Nigerian soccer fans to continue to affirm faith in the Eagles believing that the team will fly high again.
