Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was the star for his club Genclerbirligi as they grabbed a 1-0 away victory at Pendikspor in the Turkish TFF First league on Saturday.
Etebo was able to put in a commanding performance in the middle for his team as he featured for 89 minutes before he was substituted after he had helped his club secure the maximum three points.
Forward Mete Khan Demir had earlier put the club ahead with a well-taken goal in the 48th minute against the run of play.
The former Stoke City of England player in his holding midfield role provided adequate cover for the defense as the home team searched for an equalizer.
The victory propelled Genclerbirligi to the third position on the table with 11 points behind Manisa BBSK and Istanbulspor after six matches in the 20-team league.
His Man-Of-The-Match performance drew some applause from their travelling fans.
Etebo appeared to be gaining full momentum on his return football after a lengthy spell out due injury.
Saturday match was his fifth for the club.
Coach Recep Karatepe is having more faith in the 28-year old who now features in his plans as they push for promotion to the Super Lig.
