Ex-Rangers grand patron, Ejindu mourns Stanley Okoronkwo

United States of America  based grand patron of  Ex-Rangers International of Enugu, Benson Ezeomeogo Ejindu (MVP) has commiserated with the management of the club over the death of it’s former midfield maestro and Team Manager, Stanley Okoronkwo.

Okoronkwo who was one time Ag- Chairman of the club died on Monday, June 3  after a brief illness.

Speaking from his base in the United States, Ejindu described his death as shocking noting that he was saddened by his sudden demise even as he stated that with his death Rangers has lost one of it’s finest players who helped in making the club a household name in the late 70’s.

” The death of Stanley Okoronkwo came to me as a rude shock because I never knew he was sick. This was a man who helped in making Rangers a house hold name in the country and after retirement went ahead to become the team’s team manager and Ag- Chairman.

The Patron further noted that Stanley Okoronkwo, Emma Okala, Chairman Christian Chukwu, Yul Edochie, and Diewait Ikpechukwu were present during the commissioning of the FIFA STANDARD STADIUM at CIC Enugu July 29th 2023.

Ejindu while praying that his soul will rest in Perfect Peace and  God  grant his  family and the entire management of Rangers the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss noted that his services to the Flying Antelopes both as a player and administrator will be difficult to forget

Stanley Okoronkwo defended the colors of the Rangers  between 1974 – 1978 football season with the likes of Christian Chukwu, Emmanuel Okala, Patrick Ekeji, Arthur Egbunam, Aloysius Atuegbu, Adokie Amiesimeka, and a host of others while returning to serve as team manager and rose to become Ag—chairman after the exit of Chief Emma Nkwocha in the year 2000.
