Conde highlights benefits of NNL coaches’ seminar

Uefa licensed coach, Portuguese Thiago Conde says that the ongoing refresher course for coaches of 40 clubs in the country’s second tier league will apart from fully equipping the coaches with the latest scientific method of approaching their jobs will also lead to interaction and sharing of ideas among the participants.
In an interview with newstap.com.ng at the training centre in Remo Stars Football Club Conference room, Ikenne, Ogun State, Conde who is one of the resource persons explained that coaches must be ready to learn new things which they will impact on their players even as he noted that training and retraining of coaches and team handlers is very important for the growth of the game.
“I’m happy with the timing of the course because it’s coming close to the beginning of the new season and I believe that the knowledge these coaches will acquire at the end of the programme will greatly help them in their jobs.
“It’s also important to state that refresher courses is not only about taking coaches through the most modern techniques of coaching, it also teaches them about discipline as well as enable them to interact closely with each other, see themselves as friends and share ideas thereby cementing cordial relationship amongst them.
“Football is dynamic and becoming more scientific with every passing day and that’s why it’s important that coaches must from time to time upgrade their knowledge.
“In this type of seminar, new things are learnt which the coaches will take back to their teams and I believe Nigerian football will be the best beneficiary of the seminar at the end of the day”, he stressed.
