FFCN Ogunfuwa salutes NFF over launching of Monthly Football Awards
National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa has lauded the Board of Nigeria Football Federation ably led by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau over the launching of Monthly Football Awards.
Mama Nigeria as Ogunfuwa is fondly called has described the initiative as a welcome development stressing that the recognition will be a catalyst for greater prospects for Nigerian players
The number one woman in Africa leading an award winning Supporters club expressed optimism that the recognition of exceptional players would positively impact and lift not only the image of Nigerian footballers but also the administrators and critical stakeholders in the most populous African country
The former Secretary General noted that the launching would bring enthusiasm, positive energy and resourcefulness that would make the Board achieve its goals, adding that it would surely serve as the key to the overall development of Nigerian football in global space. According to the graduate of University of Lagos, she said: “On behalf of the entire members of Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, I wish to sincerely appreciate the board of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, under the able leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau for the launching of the monthly football awards. This initiative will not only bring a speedy development to Nigerian Football, but will also boost the image of Nigeria in global space. This is a pointer to the next level of what Nigeria will enjoy under the Zamfara born Football administrator. This shows that the present Board of the NFF know what Nigerians want and we Fans Club are proud of their strides.”.

With the football calendar in full swing, the NFF Monthly Awards aim to honor the brilliance, dedication and passion that Nigerian football players bring to the game, recognizing the top players who have left their mark on the pitch.

Nomination Process
The nomination process for the awards is scientific, ensuring a fair and accurate selection of nominees. An independent organization will collect and analyze players’ statistics throughout the month, ensuring that the best performances are highlighted. This unbiased, data-driven approach guarantees that the nominations reflect the top-performing players based on their contribution to their teams.
Nominations for the first round of awards will be announced on October 3rd, 2024. From there, voting will be opened to fans and journalists alike, making this a truly inclusive and engaging event for the Nigerian football community.
Voting Process
Fans and journalists will have the chance to vote for their favorite players via the official NFF voting portal on the website www.thenff.com. The voting period will run for one week following the announcement of the nominations.
Fan Votes will account for 40% of the final decision, enabling supporters to have their voices heard and directly influence the outcome of these prestigious awards.
The remaining 60% will be determined by journalists and industry professionals, ensuring a balanced and well-rounded selection process.
Speaking on the launch of the awards, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said:
