Expect tough matches at Lagos Squash classics- Falase

By Ifeanyi Eduzor
Chairman of Lagos State Squash Association, Tomi Falase says that this year’s Lagos Squash Classics which served off Tuesday, May 9 at the Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos will be keenly contested.
19 Nigerians are squaring up against players from Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Czech Republic, Egypt and India in the four day classics and Falashe believes that Nigerian players have what it takes to give their opponents a run for their money.
“I’m highly excited with the turnout at the championship and the preparation of Nigerian players and I believe that with the training they’ve undergone so far, they will put in their best and make opponents from other countries realize that the country has come of age in the racket game.
“I have this confidence because I’ve seen them train and their coaches have also done tremendous work on their psychology and physical alertness and so we expect nothing but the best performance from them.
He was also full of praise to the Lagos State Government for it’s untiring efforts at developing sports in the state and their sponsors for being there for them without whom the competition will not see the light of the day.
