Fleeing Anambra kidnapper arrested in Kaduna

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, John Chinagorom, who was on its wanted list.
The arrest was made possible through credible intelligence and swift inter-state collaboration with the Kaduna State Police Command
According to the Anambra State Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect was arrested in Zaria, Kaduna State, at his hideout located at PZ Park Road.
The police received credible intelligence on August 1, 2025, that the suspect, linked to a kidnapping case reported on April 15, 2025, in Anambra, was sighted in the area.
“Acting swiftly on the information, a team of Police detectives from the Division was dispatched, and they successfully apprehended the suspect at his hideout in Zaria, with the assistance of officers of the Kaduna State Police Command,” Ikenga said.
The suspect is currently in custody and is assisting the police with ongoing investigations.
The police have assured the public that the security situation in Anambra State remains calm, with counter-terrorism units and other crime prevention operations ongoing.
“Meanwhile, the general security situation across other parts of the State remains calm, as counter-terrorism and other crime prevention operations continue. Further developments will be communicated in due course,” Ikenga added.
The Police urged the general public to remain calm, assuring them that joint security patrols and other crime prevention operations are ongoing to maintain peace and security in the state.
