Galatasaray agree N17.6b season loan deal for Osimhen
Turkish giants Galatasaray have secured a season-long loan agreement for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
According to Sky Sports, Napoli has approved the loan move, which will see Osimhen join Galatasaray until the end of the season.
Osimhen’s potential transfer on the deadline day last Friday fell through after negotiations with Chelsea failed to yield an agreement. Additionally, a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, who had offered him a lucrative N52.8bn annual salary, did not materialize.
Napoli’s acquisition of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea has seen the reigning African Footballer of the Year sidelined from the team, potentially keeping him out of action until the January transfer window.
The Turkish transfer window, which remains open until September 13, provides Galatasaray with ample time to finalize the deal.
Sky Sports reports, “It’s just a simple loan, no obligation. But what Galatasaray has to do is pay all his wages, and he’s reportedly on about €10 million a year, approximately £160,000 a week.”
