Ganduje hosts AASG, promises appointments, remunerations for support groups
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje has eventually hosted the Director-General, Dr. Nasir Ladan and leaders of all support groups under the Amalgamated APC Support Groups (AASG) on Thursday, 12th October, 2023 after many postponements
The Chairman who was excited to see the retinue of personalities as members of the AASG on the courtesy call said “seeing is believing, the difference is clear” while assuring them that the party was aware of all their efforts in delivering victory to the party at the 2023 general elections, and especially, that of Mr. President.
“He said, you did not only work for the victory of our party at the polls, you have also continued to work to project the image and the activities of the party in good light by putting all activities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in the public domain for people to see his on-going good works.
“You have served the Party with all your resources, and you shall be duly considered for appointments and other remunerations when the time comes”, he stressed.
Dr. Nasir Ladan, while delivering the reports of the activities of the group from inception till date to the National Chairman, explained that the group had well over 3000 members as at today and registration was still on-going in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
“2650 support groups out of this number duly registered and got published in the 4th and 31st January, 2023 editions of Daily Trust Newspaper.
“All these support groups worked assiduously in all parts of the country to deliver victory to the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 elections.” said Dr. Ladan.
Talking about some of the pre-election activities of the AASG, Dr Ladan explained that the group inaugurated its National, Zonal and some States structures to give strength to it’s activities at all levels during the elections.
Adding that the AASG participated in the Imo State Presidential Campaign Rally (Women Wing) and also embarked on Victory Walk in Abuja few days to the Presidential election to sensitise the FCT residents on the need to vote the political game-changer of our time, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Dr. Ladan also explained that he led the leadership of the AASG Nationwide to congratulate the National Working Committee of the Party for a job well done, In the build up to May 29th handing-over to the President-elect then, and in response to the rumours going round that the inauguration would not be performed. “The AASG once again trouped out in their numbers on the streets of the FCT in a solemn procession to stand with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the mandate freely given to him by the Nigerian people.
As part of the post election activities of AASG was the unveiling of the body’s Magazine at the National Women Development Centre, Abuja.
“The Magazine which was birthed to project the image of the Party and APC Government in good light, dispels all the lies of the opposition against the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as holds his appointees accountable for effective and efficient service delivery to the good people of Nigeria.
The DG explained that the Magazine had been consistent in doing this since it’s unveiling on May 24th 2023.
Dr. Ladan however informed the APC boss that the Magazine had since produced four powerful editions which had variously captured the activities of the government of the day in many sectors, after which he officially presented the four editions of the AASG Magazine to him for record purposes.
The DG subsequently presented some of the group’s challenges which he said had slowed down considerably the activities of the AASG. Part of the challenges he highlighted were lack of adequate funding to embark on so many projects the AASG had lined up to undertake.
He informed the National Chairman that all the achievements of the group earlier mentioned were just contributions from members who had spent their all and were now expecting the party to remember them in the areas of appointment, employment as well as contracts.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, in his response promised to address the challenges faced by the AASG, as he acknowledged the efforts and contributions of the support groups towards the success of the party in the 2023 general elections and assured them that their dedication will not go unnoticed.
Furthermore, he stated that plans were underway to ensure that members of the AASG were duly recognized and rewarded for their hard work. He emphasized that appointments and other remunerations would be given to deserving members as a way of showing appreciation for their loyalty and commitment to the party.
Dr. Ganduje also pledged his support towards addressing some of the challenges faced by the AASG such as inadequate funding.
He assured them that measures would be put in place to ensure that they have access to adequate resources needed to carry out their activities effectively.
He however thanked members of the AASG for their unwavering support towards achieving victory for APC in 2023, while urging them to continue working together with other party loyalists towards building a better Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration
Among the dignitaries at the meeting were the former Governor of Zamfara, H.E Mahmud Shinkafi, distinguished Senator Eta Enang, members of the National Working Committee of the APC and a host of others.
