Adelaja Adenuga Foundation founder congratulates Super Eagles, Amusan on their victories

 The founder of Adelaja Adenuga Foundation, Dr. Adelaja Adenuga has congratulated the Super Eagles for their victory over Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the ongoing AFCON finals in Cote d’Ivoire as well as Nigerian Tobi Amusan for breaking 25 year African record in 60m hurdles.

The Super Eagles Saturday night at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny, Abidjan defeated Cameroon by 2-0 in the round of 16.
A brace from Lookman Haruna helped the Nigerians defeat the former five time champions and with the victory, the Coach Jose Peseiro tutored side will now face Angola who earlier defeated Namibia 3-0 at the same venue in the quarter- finals slated for next week
Speaking shortly after the match Dr. Adenuga praised the Super Eagles for displaying patriotism and good football skills which enabled them fly over their Central African neighbours.

“I must have to commend the Super Eagles for making all Nigerians proud with their victory over Cameroon in the round of 16 at the ongoing AFCON finals in Cote d’Ivoire.

” The players were at their best and dominated the game, showing good football skills and I must have to give kudos to them, the NFF and entire Nigerians for the sweet victory”, he noted.

He charged the Super Eagles not to relent on their efforts but to approach the remaining matches with more determination and ensure they win the trophy for the fourth time.

On Amusan’s record, he described her as a shining example to all Nigerian youths urging them to learn from her determination and resilient which has made her a world champion.

“It’s equally a thing of joy that our own Tobi Amusan set an African women’s indoor record in 60-meter hurdles after she dipped 7.77 seconds at the Astana Indoor Meet, Kazakhstan and I must congratulate her for making Nigerians proud.

“Her victory is an evidence of resilience, hard work and determination and I implore all youths to see her as a role model and always aim for the top”, he stated

It would be recalled that the 26-year-old blitzed across the indoor circuit on Saturday to retire the 7.82-second record set by Gloria Alozie in Madrid, Spain, in 1999.

Amusan finished first in the event’s final ahead of Nia Ali of the US and Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, who finished second and third, respectively.
