Lawal, Ogun YSFON Boss Lauds Olopade’s Appointment As Chairman Ogun 2024 NSF LOC
The Chairman, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter who is also the Chairman Ogun State Teqball Asaociation and the President, Allstars Football Club Abeokuta – Alhaji Lawal Adeoye Kasimawo Waheed has applauded the appointment of Chief Bukola Olopade former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Ogun State an Egba high Chief – Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland as the Chairman, Local Organising Committee for 2024 Ogun State National Sports Festival game scheduled to take place in the State capital.
The high-profile sports stakeholder in the State emphasised that the appointment of Olopade had not only corroborated the position of sports stakeholders in the state but also confirmed the listening prowess of the current administration by appointing those who are relevant and conversant with the appointed position in order to harvest a reciprocating result from such appointees. This was specifically emphasised earlier in the year on the appointment of sports commissioners, administrators and the sports advisers. It was noted that most of the sport captains in the past were just novice on the job, which is consequential to the downward trend of sports development in the state.
Allstars Football Club Abeokuta, the State champion of 2018 prestigious Ogun State Federations Cup, remained the 1st and only Allstars outfit to have won such highly rated Cup in any of Nigerian States.
The President of the Club furthered, by emphasising a strong confidence in the appointment of Chief Olopade as the Chairman LOC for the 2024 Ogun State NSF.
He expressed satisfaction in the calibre of members that formed the LOC team.
He posited in his confidence and believe that with Mr. Olopade’s involvement as a leading factor in the organisation and preparation of the event, Ogun State would not only successfully host but, thrill the rest of the country in sports.
Historically, Olopade was the Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel in 2006 when Ogun State successfully hosted the most colourful National Sports Festival in Nigeria.
The 2006 NSF was rated by sports writers, participants, officials and sports stakeholders for its high quality and makeups.
