Europa: Osimhen fires blank as Barca outclass Napoli

By George Aluo

Fine football! That was what Barcelona played at the Diego Maradona stadium in Naples Thursday night to outclass Napoli in Europe’s second tier competition…the Europa League winning 2-4.

The Catalan giants with the away win moved into the next round on 5-3 aggregate having been held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Camp Nou.

Thursday night’s game was one in which Napoli’s Nigerian international  Victor Osimhen failed to score but had a hand in the club’s first goal. He was brought down by Barca’s goalkeeper  Stergen resulting in a penalty which Insigne converted. That was virtually Osimhen’s real contribution until he was pulled out late in the second half.

The encounter was one which Barcelona dominated from start to finish as they continued to improve with every game under their new manager Xavi.
