The President of Ngor Okpala General Assembly, Barr. Innocent Okere has cautioned those who are planting stories of discord against the representative of Ngor Okpala state Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Obinna Egu, Ph.D. to refrain from doing such.
He said he was surprised to read a Petty article credited to non existent persons whom the writer of the cheap article claimed that they were natives of Ngor Okpala that was published by Trumpeta Newspaper, where they alleged that the lawmaker is being quiet and not conveying the problems of his constituents to the House of Assembly .
He opined that Hon. Egu is an experienced action packed lawmaker who knows when and how best to lobby and negotiate for the general interest of his Constituents and as such can not be silent on important issues especially as it concerns the progress, peace and development of his constituency.
He described the story as baseless and untrue, and urged those who didn’t do well in the last elections to understand that elections and litigations are over and that we are now into governance.
Barr. Okere cautioned those who have embarked on unnecessary distractions against their lawmaker to have a rethink and channel their energy into more productive engagements that will benefit the constituency, noting that since the lawmaker was inaugurated few months ago, he has attracted a project and more are coming and he has maintained a cordial relationship with the entire people of Ngor Okpala state Constituency.
Barr. Okere however advised those spreading false narratives against Hon. Egu to visit the house of Assembly to see for themselves his contributions during plenary session, he noted that Hon. Egu is one politician whose doors are wide open to all. He also notes that the lawmaker is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that Ngor Okpala people are not shortchanged from whatever that is due to them, pointing out that several ongoing projects and human capital development in the area, is a testament that Ngor Okpala is strategically represented in the shared prosperity administration of the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON.
Barr. Okere maintained that Ngor Okpala people are confident that Hon. Egu will make them proud and that was the reason they voted massively for him at the just concluded House of Assembly elections , hence these distractions coming his way at this time are not in the best interest of the people of Ngor Okpala LGA.
