Gusau thumbs up Lagos grassroots cup, donates match balls
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has thrown his weight behind the on going Lagos Grassroots Cup.
Gusau who have been monitoring the competition since kickoff in October said the competition has indeed help keep Nigeria youths busy and serve as a breeding ground for future national team players.
Gusau was speaking during the presentation of match Balls to the organizers, Wonderland Events led by Tayo Adeyemo as part of his contributions to the competition which started in 1999 as Abesan Cup.
He commended the organisers for engaging the youths positively and their contribution towards improving Nigeria football through the grassroot .
The NFF boss assured the organizers of the football’s house readiness to patner relevant stakeholders in the country to take the country’s football to greater heights.
Gusau wants to see more grassroots programme in the country which he believes will help to the discovery of more players .
Meanwhile in the semi-final matches played on Sunday, B.United defeated Wolves 3 –1 to reach the final
They will face fellow debutants Tradesafe in the final on November 30th at Abesan Youth Centre.
Tradesafe booked their place in the final after a grueling 6-5 penalty victory over El Cadiz.
Final Scores was 3–3 .
