Gwagwalada Football League: 20th Edition Enters Day 3 With Packed Weekend Fixtures

The 20th edition of the Gwagwalada Football League (GFL) enters its third day this weekend with a flurry of fixtures lined up across two venues – Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Gwagwalada and the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital pitch.

A total of nine matches will be played on Saturday, followed by two games on Sunday, promising another exciting round of grassroots football action.

Saturday Fixtures – GDSS Pitch

The action kicks off at 10:00am as Excel FC looks to bounce back from their Matchday 2 defeat when they face Cottage FC. At 12 noon.

Dukpa United, fresh from their narrow 1-0 win over Netshakers, will clash with Desert Warriors, who edged Excel in their last game.

Later in the afternoon, Medical Strikers will lock horns with Ejiwumi FC at 2:00pm, while Kapital Waves, who have had a mixed start to the tournament, face Sky FC in the final GDSS game of the day at 4:00pm.

Saturday Fixtures – University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Pitch

Across town, Potters FC will open the day against Sheikhandam, before ECN Global Academy and Sensational Stars Academy battle in a hotly anticipated encounter.

Babayaro FC will be hoping to overpower Soccer Talents, while the day ends with Ejanla FC taking on Golden Boys in what promises to be a tightly contested fixture.

Sunday Fixtures – UATH Pitch

The weekend wraps up on Sunday with two matches. Bocknor Academy will aim to recover from their 2-0 loss to Sensational Stars when they play Abudabi FC in the morning game.

The final match of the weekend sees NIMMA FC, who edged Golden Boys in their last outing, face Inspiration FC, who are coming off a convincing 3-0 win over Daniel Academy
