Handball : Edo Dynamos Defeats Abia Valiants in Thriller On Day 3 of National Division One League In Umuahia
Day Three of the ongoing National Division One Handball League in Umuahia, Abia State produced another round of thrilling handballing experience with Edo Dynamos staging a spirited second-half performance to defeat hosts Abia Valiants 32–29 in a pulsating female category clash on Monday
The match lived up to expectations as the Abia Valiants went into halftime with a narrow 18–17 lead, but the Dynamos rallied strongly after the break, tightening their defence and converting key chances to snatch victory against the host team
Elsewhere in the women’s category, Soof Academy proved too strong for Kwara Girls with a commanding 39–19 win, while Mindscope Academy defeated Air Force Babes 20–19 in a nail-biting contest.
Funad Academy also recorded a solid 21–14 win over Pyramids to cap the day’s female fixtures.
In the men’s category, Air Force, despite a seemingly comfortable first half advantage of 12-8, survived a late scare to beat Vipers of Jos 22–21, while Bayelsa United overcame Mindscope Academy 15–12.
U & H Abia continued their fine run with a 30–22 victory over Kutus Academy, and Cannan Tigers and Kwara settled for a 24–24 draw in an evenly contested affair.
