HFN Congratulates Vembe on IHF Arbitration Tribunal Appointment
The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has congratulated Barrister Terence Vembe following his appointment as a member of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Arbitration Tribunal.
Vembe’s appointment, which runs until 2029, was confirmed by the IHF Council after its meeting held via video conference on March 2, 2026. The confirmation was conveyed in an official letter signed by the President of the IHF, Dr. Hassan Moustafa.
He will serve on the tribunal alongside El Hanafi El Adli, Bibiana Bárbara Ferrea, and Judith Amandine A. Goude-Djessin.
Reacting to the development, President of the HFN, Jibril Saidu Ojih, praised Vembe for the achievement, describing it as a proud moment for the federation and the entire Nigerian handball community.
“On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria and the entire handball family in the country, I warmly congratulate Barrister Terence Vembe on his well-deserved appointment as a member of the IHF Arbitration Tribunal,” Ojih said.

Ojih further noted that Vembe’s elevation reflects the increasing respect Nigeria commands within the international handball community, adding that the federation remains committed to supporting individuals who continue to make the nation proud on the global stage.
Barrister Vembe joins other distinguished members of the tribunal tasked with handling arbitration matters within the sport, marking another significant milestone for Nigerian handball on the world stage.
