HFN President Ocheho expresses satisfaction over successful conclusion of IHF License C Coaching Course
The President of Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Samuel Ocheho has expressed deep satisfaction over the successful completion of the International Handball Federation (IHF) License C Coaching Course, which concluded in Abuja on March 22, 2025.
The intensive coaching course, held from March 15 to 22, 2025 was organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB) in conjunction with the Handball Federation of Nigeria and it brought together aspiring and experienced coaches from across Nigeria and beyond to enhance their knowledge and technical expertise in handball coaching.
The course was led by esteemed IHF instructor Dr. Zoltan Marczinka from Hungary, with additional support from Mr. Kelvin Konan, the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB) representative from Côte d’Ivoire.
Nigeria’s own Michael Tangahaar served as the local instructor, ensuring a seamless and impactful learning experience for all participants.
Speaking on the successful conclusion of the program, Ocheho praised the collaborative efforts of IHF and CAHB in developing coaching standards in Nigeria.
He also emphasized that initiatives like this will not only improve the technical capacity of Nigerian coaches but also contribute significantly to the overall growth of handball in the country.
“On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, I want to praise the global handball body IHF and Africa’s handball Federation CAHB for collaborating with us in holding this course in Nigeria and helping to develop our Coaches with new knowledge.”
“We acknowledge the fact that this will help not only to develop the technical capacity of participant coaches but also the overall growth of the handball in Nigeria as many of the participants were Nigerians ” Ocheho concluded.
He also extends its gratitude to the instructors led by Dr. Zoltan Marczinka, Mr. Kelvin Konan from CAHB as well as Michael Tangahaar, participants, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the course while reiterating that the Federation remains committed to furthering the development of handball in Nigeria through capacity-building programs and international collaborations.
