HFN President Ojih Expresses Shock Over Death of Aquatics Federation President Dunkwu

President of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Jibril Saidu Ojih (FNIQS), has expressed deep shock over the death of the President of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, Mr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu.

In a condolence message, Ojih described Dunkwu’s passing as a painful loss to the Nigerian sports community, noting that the late sports administrator worked tirelessly to advance the development and profile of water sports across the country.

“On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, I received with great shock the news of the passing of the President of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, Mr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu.

His death is a huge loss not only to the aquatics family but to the entire Nigerian sports community,” Ojih said.

The HFN President noted that Dunkwu was a committed sports administrator who dedicated his time and energy to the development of aquatic sports in Nigeria.

“Mr. Dunkwu worked tirelessly to advance the stock of water sports in Nigeria and his passion for the growth of the sport was evident in his leadership.

He was also a strong supporter of the programmes of the Handball Federation of Nigeria and always showed genuine interest in the progress of other sports,” he added.

Ojih further described the late Aquatics Federation President as a visionary leader whose contributions to sports administration would not be forgotten.

“Nigerian sports has lost a visionary administrator and a committed sports lover whose contributions will continue to inspire many of us in the sporting fraternity. We will surely miss his wisdom, support and dedication to the development of sports in the country.”

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Dunkwu’s soul and asked God to grant his family, friends, and members of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation as well as the National Sports Commission (NSC) the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
