Human Rights Group petitions IGP over misconduct of woman Police Officer
Human Rights Foundation has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to register many complaints filed with them by members of the public that have on different occasions suffered injustice and abuse from an officer, serving in the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Oyo State Command, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Fawole O. Bukola.
The Lagos based body in a petition written and made available to newsmen alleged that the officer who has been in the same office since 2006 when she was on the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) had been using every means to keep herself in the same post because of what she’s using the office to amass illegally.
The letter stated thus ” We have received Multiple complaints from many members of the public who have had one case or the other which indicated how she had committed various ethical violations of human rights and mishandling of the cases and misuse of her office, (evidence of such can be provided on demand sir).”
“Our investigation has revealed that this greedy attitude of this woman officer has created huge fears in the minds of people having their cases passing through her for legal prosecution in the state”
The human rights body, HRF however urged the IGP to use his good office to commence investigation into the activity of the O/C Legal Section of Oyo State CID to ascertain all their claims.
