I m impressed with Bendel Insurance -Shaibu

Edo state deputy governor, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu has expressed satisfaction with the way Bendel Insurance started their NNL campaign.

Insurance on Friday night’s opener were held to a goalless draw by Vandrezzer at the Teslim Balogun stadium in a match that Shaibu watched.

Speaking after the match, the sports loving Deputy Governor said he is impressed with what he saw not just from Insurance but even from their hosts.

In his words…”I am impressed with Insurance and Vandrezzer too. Insurance had a good game and the officiating was good. We have opened up discussion with the owner of Vandrezzer because we have things in common. On Insurance, I can bet that if the officiating continues this way, Insurance will land in NPFL. “

Shaibu stressed that the whole idea is not just to win but to build a solid football base in Nigeria.”

He said he wants to see a very solid Nigerian league where players at home can make the national team just like in Egypt.

He pointed out that Zamalek and Al Ahlh for instance provided most of the players that Egypt used to prosecute the AFCON in Cameroun.

“This is the kind of structure we are putting in place in Insurance. Running the club in a very professional way.”
