Morris Atula to be Special Guest of Honour at Pro- wrestling seminar in Lagos

President of Veteran Wrestlers Association of Nigeria, ( VWAN), Morris Atula has been invited as the Special Guest of Honour in a pro wrestling Seminar scheduled to hold at Surulere, Lagos on Friday 18th July, 2025.

Atula a former Commonwealth and World Light Heavyweight Wrestling Champion known as the “Golden Warrior”, with a distinguished career spanning Nigeria, Europe, the USA, and the Caribbean is back in Nigeria to contribute his quota to the development of amateur wrestling nationally more than ever before.

After over three decades abroad, mostly in the United Kingdom, he returned to Nigeria in early 2025 and assumed role of the Chairman, Edo State Wrestling Association, and now aspirant for the Presidency of the Nigeria Amateur Wrestling Federation (NAWF).

He sponsors grassroots tournaments (e.g., Morris Atula Cadet Wrestling Championships in Edo State) and drives veteran-led zonal wrestling revival initiatives across Nigeria.
Atula is a patron of the Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA). While Atula supports wrestling in Africa generally, his work appears primarily focused on Nigeria’s amateur and professional wrestling development over the years.

Morris Atula is a senior and highly influential figure in Nigerian wrestling, with veteran leadership, grassroots sponsorship, and national federation ambitions and he’s optimistic that the timely pro wrestling seminar would help in the development of Nigerian and African pro wrestling at large.
