By Ifeanyi Eduzor
Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Tonobok Okowa said that this year’s National Sports Festival to be hosted by the  state  will be  world class

He told our correspondent in Lagos that the state is ready to go and will not give room for excuses  or failure as their plan is to set a standard for other states to emulate.
According to Okowa who also doubles as President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria,  the recent Senior African Athletics championship hosted by the state is a testimony of what to expect at the Nigerian version of the Olympics insisting that Delta has what it takes to surpass other states in the festival.
” You  know that the last time we organised the Senior African Athletics Championship, we put up a wonderful event and the stadium was always full to capacity and at a stage we locked out fans  and that’s exactly what you will see at the festival.
‘Right now we’ve started putting all logistics in place for a successful festival and as the leading sport state in the country which every other state look on to, we’re going to surpass whatever other states have done in the past and raise the bar on how National Sports Festival should be organised’, he stressed.
Okowa expressed confidence that with the support of the state government and members of the various sub- committees that will work during the festival, the sky will be the limit of the state aws it plans to put up an event that will be a reference point in future
