Taekwondo: 2019 African Games Champion, Chinazum Nwosu settles for bronze in Accra

-53Kg Africa Games Champion Chinazum Nwosu will not be retaining her Gold medal she won at the African Games after losing her semi-final encounter to Bouma Coulibaly of Cote d’Ivoire.

Chinazum who is Nigeria No. 1 rated in her category started brightly defeating Omolara Eunice of Ghana in her quarter-fnal bout and was hoping to finish the job in the semi-final.
In the semi-final clash, Bouma Coulibaly resisted everything Chinazum threw to her to win the 2 rounds on the mat.

In another fight of the day, -63Kg Baffa Mohammed defeated Bennet Tossou in the Round of 32 before losing out to Ben Konate of Cote d’Ivoire in the round of 16.

In the -54Kg category, medal hopeful Adbul Ariola couldn`t go past Ethiopia Zwede Fitsh as he narrowly lost the third round on the mat in the round of 16 encounter.

Florence Okafor in the women +73Kg category defeated Boukar Assaine of Chad in the round of 16 before losing out to Fatima Ezzahra Abo of Morocco in the quarter-finals.
