I’m honoured to be recognized by SWAN- Aluo
Chairman of Nigeria National League, Mr. George Aluo says that he’s highly honoured to be recognized by Sports Writers Association of Nigeria ( SWAN)
Aluo was two days ago, nominated as one of those to be conferred with the prestigious Veteran Journalist Award by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN).
The letter conferring the award on him explained that he was chosen in recognition of his outstanding contributions, professionalism and enduring service to the growth and integrity of development of sports journalism in the country.
Reacting to his nomination, Aluo, stated that what excites him most was that the award was coming from his immediate constituency noting that it will propel him to do more for the development of sports journalism in the country.
” I’m highly honoured to be considered for recognition by a reputable professional body like SWAN which I have been part of for more than three decades.
” This recognition is significant because it’s coming from my immediate constituency which is a testament that they recognize my contributions to sports journalism development and I will continue to champion the cause of the profession”, he assured.
The journalist turned sports administrator was full of praise for the association for being meticulous on their selecting process which has given the award credibility.
The award ceremony which is part of activities marking the 60th anniversary of SWAN is scheduled to hold from October, 29- 31, 2025 at the VIP Lounge, Package A, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja
