I’M MOST QUALIFIED TO REVIVE NIGERIAN WRESTLING – MORRIS ATULA
A retired Nigeria, Commonwealth and World Wrestling Champion, Chief Morris Atula has reaffirmed he is the best candidate to lead the Nigeria Wrestling Federation after the tenure of Hon. Daniel Igali.
Elections into various sports Federations are due to hold in the next couple of weeks and Atula is of the view that he has the pedigree to make Nigeria win laurels at international wrestling competitions after regular training of wrestlers and retraining of coaches.
The Edo State Wrestling Association chairman has therefore admonished stakeholders to avoid sentiments and massively vote him to be the next President of the NWF.
“I actually began winning wrestling laurels from age 14 and I have been a successful wrestling coach and Administrator in over 50 years of my life.

.m.n I have effectively understood what Nigeria needs to rule the world of Wrestling. I have the burning desire for our nation to be at the zenith of wrestling globally”, began Atula who recently mobilized veteran Wrestlers to organize a very successful 3 day South East Junior Zonal wrestling championship at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu.
The Edo State born Atula who is the President of Veteran Wrestlers Association of Nigeria was emphatic that such regular zonal championships and top class training/exposure would unveil youthful and talented Wrestlers from different states of the Federation.
Atula further declared,” I know where the problem lies and I’m set to fix it. Stakeholders should get it right by electing me as the President. We need someone with the experience and passion.
“I will ensure that veterans and other credible technocrats get it right. I have the time and blueprint for revival of Nigerian wrestling. We will also have excellent relationship with sports loving patrons and sponsors for the several training programs and competitions in all states of the federation”.
Atula concluded by advising the outgoing NWF board led by Daniel Igali to support a credible technocrat like himself instead of struggling to install a novice; saying,” it’s not about big pocket and fame, but being conversant with problems and solution for Nigerian wrestling problems.
