IMC Progresses Steadily Despite External Challenges, Says Okumagba


The Chairman of the interim management committee (IMC) of Nigeria Football and Sports Supporters Group prince Vincent Okumagba has affirmed that the committee is firmly on course and will not be distracted by individuals outside the IMC who, driven by greed and self-interest, seek to sow discord within the supporters group.

He stated that the IMC has been holding regular meetings to ensure that all decisions are made collectively and properly documented through minutes noting that their mandate is clearly outlined in the Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the six NFF recognized supporter groups , with defined guidelines to guide their work.

“We are diligently working towards establishing a united and cohesive supporters group that every Nigerian can be proud of .
“Our efforts have garnered commendations from officials overseeing sports development in the country, highlighting the significance and progress of our mission.

“Our doors remain open for engagement from all sports fans across the country because a true supporter club is about the strength of its numbers . While everyone can be in leadership simultaneously, we urge all members to support and align with this great initiative to forster unity in support of Nigerian sports .

“We will not be distracted by naysayers. The recent stakeholders meeting was a huge success, with over 85% of expected participants actively taking part, he explained

Okumagba further stated that the two committee inaugurated at the meeting ( Reconciliation and Constitution Drafting Committees) have taken off nicely, and plans are underway to set up many more to aid the job of the committee as they prepare for WAFCON and AFCON
