African Games: Football fans lambast Boso over Flying Eagles poor outing, call for his sack

Following the inability of Flying Eagles to qualify from their Group and progress to the next stage at the ongoing 13th African Games in Ghana, football fans have blamed the team’s Coach, Ladan Boso for the poor performance with some calling for his sack.
The Flying Eagles lost their first match 1-2 to Uganda before managing a slim 1-0 victory over South Sudan but fell 2-3 to Senegal in their last Group match to crash out of the tournament.
Speaking to newstap.com.ng, some football fans and stakeholders were of the opinion that Boso has overstayed his usefulness in the team and should be shown the exit door
According to them, his lack of technical approach and wrong choice of players contributed to the team’s poor outing and wondered why the NFF kept on recycling him even when it was obvious he has outlived his usefulness and no longer in tune with the dictates of modern coaching.

“It’s unfortunate that the Flying Eagles put up such a poor performance and the blame must go to Boso because his team selection and tactical approach to games were wrong.

” In the first place, the NFF should have relieved him of his position a long time ago because since he took charge of the team, he has not really put smiles on the faces of Nigerians and we wonder why the football house kept on recycling him in that position when we have better coaches that can do the job”, they stressed.

On arguments in some quarters that late camping and poor preparation affected the team, they were quick to dismiss such excuses noting that the Coaches Association Chairman does not have what it takes to lead the team .

They charged the football house to as a matter of urgency look for his replacement before more harm is done to the junior national team.
