Madam Ukamaka Okafor Goes Home

The family of the late Chief Joseph Nnodumuene Okafor of Umuezechukwu kindred, Ngogwuju village, Ojoto, Obiofia, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State, with heavy heart announce the demise of their matriarch, Mrs Mercy Ukamaka Okafor, aged 78. Her remains will be committed to mother earth on Wednesday, April 12,2023 in her husband’s country home, Ojoto, Obiofia, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State.

Her body departs St. Charles Borromen Morgue for a brief stop over in her father’s compound, late Victor Anosa Akumili in Iruebenebee village before being brought to her husband’s compound for lying-in-state at 8.30am and open viewing after which a funeral mass holds at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ojoto, Obiofia by Rev Owen Nwokolo (Bishop of Nigeria) at 10am. Interment follows thereafter at the family compound.The Okafor’s shall have a final outing service at the same church on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 9am.
Precedent to her burial, a wake keep/service of songs by family members and co-faithful will hold on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at High Chief Emmanuel Frank Okafor’s compound (KSC), Ngogwugu Villa. She is survived by her children and grand children among who is renown business mogul, High Chief Emmanuel Frank Okafor and nephew, Russia based sports philanthropist Ernest Nwankwo Chukwuwire. Besides being a devout christian, peace maker and hardworking woman of virtue, who strove to imbibe sterling characters in her children and all who came across her, Mrs Okafor lived a fulfilled and glorious life that is worthy to be celebrated.
