Imo SWAN mourns the death of the State NUJ Vice Chairman, Emma Odibo

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Imo State Chapter has expressed it’s utmost surprise at the death of frontline journalist, Mr. Emmanuel Odibo, who until his demise was the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Chapter.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the State Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka and Tunde Liadi, State Secretary of Imo SWAN, described Odibo’s death after a brief ailment as shocking and sudden because he was agile and full of life before the sad news of his death.
Imo SWAN noted that Odibo who died a week ago was a peace-loving and easy-going person who has remained a strong member and played good role in NUJ, Imo Council over the years.
Chukwuemeka remarked that late Comrade Odibo also made his mark at Announcer Express Newspapers where he worked close to two decades.
“The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, in Imo State commiserates with NUJ, Imo Council led by Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma and the entire journalists in Imo State over the death of Mr Odibo and pray that God repose his soul. The body also beckon on his family to have the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement read.
The body said it will continue to have fond memories of Odibo for his hard work, honesty and love for peace and tranquility and dedication to the noble journalism profession.
