INSPIRE SPORTS ACADEMY CLINCHES GOTHIA CUP U-17 TITLE, SET TO REPRESENT NIGERIA IN SWEDEN

Inspire Sports Academy has emerged champions of the Gothia Cup U-16 qualifiers, securing the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the global stage of the Gothia Cup U-17 tournament scheduled for May 2026.
The qualifiers, held at the Inspire Sports Complex in Oshodi, Lagos, brought together some of the most competitive youth teams in the country, including defending champions SKF Eagles, Inspire FC, Unification FC, Ghetto Tigers, Unique FC, Socca Naija, Tinubu FC, and ACFA.
The tournament served as a platform to identify Nigeria’s representative for one of the world’s most celebrated youth football competitions.
Inspire FC displayed exceptional quality and dominance throughout the competition.
They delivered a commanding performance in the semi-finals, defeating Unification FC 3-0 to book a place in the final.
In a highly competitive championship match, Inspire FC edged past defending champions SKF Nigeria Eagles with a hard-fought 1-0 victory to claim the title.
Their triumph confirms them as Nigeria’s flagbearers at the Gothia Cup U-17 tournament, where they will compete against elite youth teams from across the globe.
The Gothia Cup, held annually in Gothenburg, Sweden, is widely regarded as the largest and most international youth football tournament in the world, attracting over 1,700 teams from more than 70 countries and featuring thousands of matches across multiple venues.
The competition has, over the years, provided a global stage for young talents, with several former participants progressing to professional and international football careers.
