More than 100 disabled women athletes and non athletes have been
given special empowerment by Strong Ties Empowerment Foundation at the
National Stadium Surulere Lagos.
The Foundation had earlier given cash and quality materials before
launching a special personal business saving scheme for the beneficiaries on Sunday aimed at making them self reliant.
Caretaker of Strong Ties Empowerment Foundation, Glory Odejimi who along with some top business and financial experts lectured the athletes on how to gain financial independence presented foodstuffs to the over 100 women with disability.
Caretaker Glory Odejimi said the disabled athletes and women must be
focused in whatever business the Foundation inspire them to establish.
“At Strong Ties Foundation our Joy is to empower women to become self reliant.
We target making women move from grass to grace. It is wrong for
women to completely rely on their husbands. We cherish those who make profit from every empowerment we provide’, said Odejimi.
She explained that loans would be given to women who effectively manage
their businesses while adding that those involved in the weekly
contributions would be thoroughly monitored.
