Shooting Sports Federation commiserate with Kano State Govt over death of athletes
The Nigerian Shooting Sports Federation has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government of Kano State and the Kano State Sports Commission (KNSC) on the tragic loss of 22 cherished individuals who passed away on Saturday, 31 May 2025, while returning from the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.
According to the condolence message signed by the President of the Federation Navy Captain O.B Ayoade, the devastating loss has left the entire Nigerian sporting family in mourning.
“These were dedicated athletes and officials who gave their best in service of their state and nation. Their memory will remain a symbol of courage, commitment, and pride.
“We pray that the Almighty grants eternal rest to the departed, healing to the injured, and comfort to the grieving families, team mates, and the good people of Kano State.
“May their legacy live on through the unity and strength of the sporting spirit they so nobly upheld”, concludes the statement
